How has being a History graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?
"I spent the majority of my time studying US history from the Civil War to Civil Right era and it really helped me understand how the history of race in American shaped our current social landscape. It also made me a great writer and excellent with critical thinking, tools I use everyday as a dentist! This helps me tremendously in dentistry and made me a more well rounded individual."
What advice would you give students in Duke's History programs?
"I loved the department because it had some of the most passionate, caring professors who really wanted their students to learn. Don’t be afraid to take your professors out for coffee/lunch; they can really be some of the best mentors you can have on campus!"
