How has being a History graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?
"Studying history at Duke has enabled me to identify and analyze historical patterns and trends that shape today's entertainment industry and inform the viewing preferences of the customers my company hopes to reach. It also taught me to think critically about source material and consider the viewpoints and agendas of those involved in the documentation, which is hugely useful as I process large amounts of information each day at work and need to decide which pieces of information to prioritize when I'm making decisions."
What advice would you give students in Duke's History programs?
"Read, read, read. Read for the rest of your life. I also find it helpful to take notes while I'm reading as it helps me retain more and primes my brain to make connections and find patterns."
