How has being a History graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?
"History was an area where I was going to end up taking a lot of classes at Duke regardless of whether or not I received a major. Turning that interest into a major was a great decision that I reap benefits from daily in both of my careers (law, music industry) and my personal life. Research skills and critical thinking acumen filter into all sorts of aspects of my life, skills that were honed in part as a History major."
What advice would you give students in Duke's History programs?
"Rush into the classes that capture your imagination - you're only an undergrad once and don't miss out on those great opportunities, especially at a place like Duke with such a rich History department and staff. Your excitement and curiosity will reward you."
