How has being a History graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?
"Studying history at Duke laid the foundation for my analytical think-set that I bring to my job on a daily basis. Being able to assess relevant information (both current and historical), develop a viewpoint, and support it are critical components of my job as a credit analyst and trader."
What advice would you give students in Duke's History programs?
"Don't be afraid to get outside your comfort zone. I grew up on Greek mythology and knew I wanted to pursue more classical history courses. Although I did love every second of them, I found that my rewarding courses were those where I did not necessarily have the same historical foundation such as my capstone seminar Leadership in American History. Additionally, take any class you can with Professor Sosin."
