How has being a History graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"I enjoyed studying history from an early age and took a particular fancy to it thanks to inspiring high school teachers. My experience at Duke took that one step further. My work on my thesis on Kennedy’s management style during the Cuban Missile Crisis led by Dr. Calvin Davis (now sadly deceased) pushed me to a love of a study of US Foreign Policy that has sustained me in my career today."

What advice would you give students in Duke's History programs?

"Your undergraduate studies should be something you enjoy rather than something you feel obligated to perform. Do what you love and love what you do."
