How has being a History graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?
"My Duke History experiences not only provided me with the opportunities to critically evaluate the past but also gave me exemplary models of being an educator. My professors were extraordinary and generous instructors — passionate about the field and dedicated to student learning. The majority of my work is teaching college students and I strive each day to live up to their examples."
What advice would you give students in Duke's History programs?
"Take advantage of all opportunities— study abroad! Enroll in classes that examine time periods or places you are unfamiliar with! Make an effort to connect with faculty members."
