Examines the development of Zionism as both an ideology and a political movement that contributed to the establishment of Israel in 1948. An examination of political, cultural and social history of the state as constantly changing patterns of interaction between domestic factors and the impact of regional as well as inter-nation dynamics. Particular attention given to the relationship between United States and Israel. One course.
