Johns Hopkins Press—with a grant from the NEH/Mellon Foundation Humanities Open Book program to reissue classics in some fields—has just brought out a brand-new edition of The Russian Revolutionary Emigres, 1825-1870 by our very own Martin Miller. Originally published in 1986, Marty’s monograph was the first study of Russian emigres who left their country in the first half of the 19th century to escape the numerous adverse demands of the state under Nicholas I.
