Vanessa Freije defended her dissertation, "Journalists, Scandal, and the Unraveling of One-Party Rule in Mexico, 1960-1988,” and will take the Society of Fellows post-doc at Dartmouth College next year before starting a tenure-track job at the University of Washington in 2016.
