2011 Major: History (Military History) and Italian Studies
"Being a Duke history graduate shaped my career from the beginning. I met the pre-law professor through this major, who encouraged me to go to law school. I went to law school and in part because I majored in military history, I joined the Army JAG Corps. I served as a lawyer for the Army for 5.5 years. After that, I became a prosecutor with the Hennepin County Attorneys Office in Minnesota and remained in the National Guard. I am now on my way to joining another prestigious organization. I attribute part my success to my attendance at Duke and the major I chose."
"Don’t worry so much about the major itself. Focus on learning as much as you can and doing well. It’s the critical thinking skills that you learn in college that matter the most once you graduate."
