A.I. and History Education: A Roundtable

Tuesday, December 9, -
Speaker(s): James Chappel
Pete Sigal
Sarah Balakrishnan
Jocelyn Olcott

Come join us in 229 Classroom, on 9 December, from 11:45-1:15, for an informal discussion of A.I. and history education. This will be a very practical conversation about what we can be doing in our classrooms. We’ll begin with short presentations from faculty members who took various approaches to A.I. in their Fall 2025 courses: some who banned it completely, others who tried to integrate it fully, others who tried a more moderate approach. They will share their experiment and, more importantly, share how it went. This will then open up to a more general conversation about best practices for Spring 2026 courses.

This is organized by the DUS (James Chappel), and will feature short presentations from him, Pete Sigal, Jolie Olcott, and Sarah Balakrishnan. If anyone wants to be added to that list, let James know!

Lunch will be provided. Please provide an RSVP to Diana McGinty by 30 November so we can order the right amount of food. Funding is provided by the History Hub.
