This event is an open forum for you to talk about a historical/humanities/social sciences research you are doing or have done that you are passionate about. This doesn't need to be your class work (it could be); it could be your:
independent studies project
senior thesis
a history-related project for a non-History class
personal project
summer project
community / public history project
or any project / research somewhat related to a humanities discipline
This discussion panel is designed to be a large lightning round discussion panel where participants could share in-progress work/research that's related to a humanities discipline in an informal, seminar-type environment for 4-6 minutes each. Afterward, participants can mingle and chat about their projects over food. This is not a formal presentation. Imagine it's an opportunity for you to "yap" about a project you are working on for a few minutes. You do NOT need to prepare any PowerPoints, videos, speech scripts, or anything (you could, if you'd like).
Your project does NOT need to be completed to participate. In fact, we highly welcome in-progress work. We have designated time for all participants to discuss and receive advice and comments from each other after each person's presentation. Depending on the interest, each participant will have 4-6 minutes to talk about their project. In the end, we will have time for discussion, idea-sharing, and socialization. This is NOT a formal presentation. We are just here to yap and discuss. You do NOT need to prepare any PowerPoints, videos, speech scripts, or anything (you could, if you'd like).
Any major is welcome. If you'd like to participate, please fill out this form by November 11th, 11:59pm!
