Q&A format. This talk explores the politics of curating Latinx History at the National Museum of American History. By focusing on two exhibitions “Girlhood (It’s Complicated)” and “De Ultima Hora: Latinas Report Breaking News,” Dr. Loza will explore techniques of incorporating Latinx History within exhibitions and projects, and highlight the use of material culture, oral history, archival evidence, and design.

Mireya Loza is Associate Professor in the Department of History and American Studies Program at Georgetown University, and former curator at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History.
