Laura Edwards has been part of a project, "Re-Imagining Democracy in the Age of Revolutions," organized out of Oxford University by Joanna Innes and Mark Philp, which held a series of workshops and has resulted in a book, with commissioned pieces that reflect the discussions at the workshops: Joanna Innes and Mark Philp, Re-Imagining Democracy in the Age of Revolutions: America, France, Britain, Ireland 1750-1850 (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2013). She contributed one of the three essays on the United States, "The Contradictions of Democracy in American Institutions."
