Overview

I am interested in United States foreign relations broadly defined. My research focuses on US-South African relations after the passage of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts of 1964 and 1965. I examine the intersections of social movements and governance within and between the United States and South Africa, focusing particularly on the rise of the post-WWII transnational Right and the global anti-apartheid movement. I am interested in questions of nationalism, imperialism, cultural transmission, political economy, and race.
