We base our undergraduate curriculum on the belief that knowledge about the past changes how we understand ourselves now. Our courses allow students to put the past into action. They challenge students to think critically about the world around them and their place within it. They also prepare students interested in a wide range of careers, including law, medicine, public policy, education, and business. Those who take history courses will emerge thinking differently about the past, the present, and the future.
