Majors in History and Public Policy

Hi, I'm a senior studying history and public policy, and I plan on attending law school. I'm from Atlanta, Georgia, and am really interested in human migration, historical literature, and hiking. I've worked as a research assistant on campus, studying child abuse, foster care coverage, and incarceration. I also play bassoon in the Duke Symphony Orchestra and in a chamber music group. I've studied in both Spain and Denmark, and love to talk about travel and the outdoors.

Favorite Class: History 277 - Tolstoy and the Russian Experience. We read "War and Peace," "Anna Karenina," and more. It was the most reading I've ever had to do for a class, but it was so much fun to see how Tolstoy's writing reflected his life experiences and how it influenced Russian culture in the 20th century and beyond.
