Conference Travel Funds

The History Department and the Graduate School share costs in supporting graduate students invited to present papers at academic conferences. A limited amount of money has been set aside for this purpose and it is expended accordingly:

  1. Application forms, available from the Director of Graduate Studies Assistant (DGSA), must be completed, approved by the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS), and submitted to the Graduate School Office more than a month before the proposed trip.
  2. Only students who have completed their preliminary exams are eligible for this support.
  3. For domestic conference there is a limit of $525 from the Graduate School and $225 from the Department for this reimbursement of costs for travel, food, and lodging.  For conferences abroad these limits are $700 (Graduate school) and $300 (Department).
  4. Receipts must be kept and submitted.
