Class of 2027
Major in History, Minor in Psychology, Certificate in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics

I am a history student with a great passion for the importance of the humanities in a world which is seemingly losing sight of this importance more and more every day. I am interested in the intersection of history and law, and serve as the president of Phi Alpha Delta (international pre-law organization) as well as a member of the Duke History Union. As a research assistant at the Duke Center for Firearms Law (an opportunity which came from a History+ internship, love the plus programs!), I study legal history and its vast implications on legislation and litigation today. I am a tour guide and love sharing my passion for Duke with visitors! Finally, I am involved in various Christian communities at Duke, such as RUF and CCS, and love building my faith through education!

Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke was Religion 368, the Theology and Fiction of CS Lewis. My Professor, Dr. Nicholas White, was intellectual, motivating, and committed to his students' growth. As a Christian student always seeking to learn how faith fits into academia, Dr. White's class posed riveting questions surrounding all of CS Lewis' work and where we draw the line between theology and fiction. We read a range of works, from Lewis' memoir of his wife's death, "A Grief Observed," to his most well known children's books, the Chronicles of Narnia. We explored historical context, writing style, and each facet of Lewis' writing to gain a comprehensive understanding of Lewis and his writing.
