Majors in History and Computer Science; Minor in French Studies
I am a researcher for the Duke Institutional History Project where I focus on the relationship between the board of trustees and slavery at Trinity College. I am the secretary of Project HEAL, a volunteer with FEMMES+, a resident assistant, and a member of a Bass Connections team that investigates 17th-century consumption. I am currently a Gilder Lehrman College Fellow in American History and I was recently published by the Columbia Journal of History. I'm interested in the digital humanities and computational linguistics. I love reading, baking lemon bars and egg tarts, and embroidering.
Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke was HISTORY 374: Women, Gender, and Sexuality in American History. In my own life I feel as though I've internalized many conceptions in terms of how gender and gender roles dictate the way people move through society, but it was fascinating to learn about where these conceptions come from and how they were actively constructed. All of the readings were super engaging and there was never a dull moment during discussion.
